Tesla (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk didn’t miss a chance the create some hype and excitement around the upcoming Optimus V3 humanoid robot during the Q3 2025 Earnings Call.

Optimus V3 is Tesla’s next-generation of its first humanoid robot project. The current most advanced generation is Optimus V2.5, which some people misunderstood as V3.

However, Musk has clarified that V3 is still in the making. During the Q3 call, he made an important announcement on Optimus V3’s unveiling timeline.

“We look forward to unveiling Optimus V3, you know, probably in Q1 [2026],” Elon Musk said. This suggests that Tesla is moving at a fast pace with the Optimus V3 development, and we can expect its reveal in the first quarter of the next year.

However, as Elon Musk is quite optimistic with his delivery timelines, the Optimus V3 unveiling can be delayed until the mid of the year. These delays are normally caused by addressing small issues, bugs, and implementing subtle improvements based on Musk’s directions.

Tesla Optimus V3 robot will also be a prototype. Tesla’s humanoid robot is still a few years away from going on sale to the public. Before that, it has to go through a ton of tests and safety regulations.

Optimus V3 Features

Musk didn’t only utter the estimated timeline for Optimus V3, he also gave out some interesting information about the upcoming Tesla robot’s features and outlook.

It will be significantly different from the existing prototypes. Commenting on the above video earlier this month, Musk said, “Optimus V3 is something special”.

Elon Musk stated the following about Optimus V3 during the Q3 Earnings Call:

It won’t even seem like a robot. It’ll seem like a person in a robot suit, which is kind of how we started off with Optimus.

It’ll seem so real that you’ll need to like poke it, I think, to believe that it’s actually a robot.

And obviously, like the real-world intelligence we’ve developed for the car, most of that transfers to Optimus. So, it’s a very good starting point.

In conclusion, we’re excited about the, you know, updated mission of Tesla, which is sustainable abundance.

So, going beyond sustainable energy to say sustainable abundance is the mission, where we believe with Optimus and self-driving.

You can actually create a world where there is no poverty, where everyone has access to the finest medical care. Optimus will be an incredible surgeon, for example.

And imagine if everyone had access to an incredible surgeon.

Of course, we need to make sure Optimus is safe and everything. I do think we’re headed for a world of sustainable abundance, and I am excited to work with the Tesla team to make that happen.
