Tesla software update version 2026.2.3 has been rolled out to the majority of the company’s global vehicle fleet. This new update is now rolling out to the Cybertruck units as well.

Starting with version 2026.2, Tesla has moved to the main 2026 branch of updates. Before 2026.2, the automaker rolled out builds with tweaks from 2025, such as the 2025.45.9 update.

After the United States and Canada, Tesla car owners from Europe and the Middle East are also reporting getting the 2026.2.3 over-the-air (OTA) software update.

According to the Tesla software rollout statistics data from Tessie.com and TeslaFi.com, around ~62% of the Tesla global fleet has received the 2026.2.3 update (release notes below). This new update also contains some hidden features and improvements, explore here.

The 2026.2.3 software update brings features like child left-alone warning, easier unlatching of the charge cable, Supercharger maps improvement, and Cybertruck also received Grok integration for navigation commands (beta).

Last year, in the 2025.20.6 software update, Tesla deployed the Child Left-Behind Alert feature in Europe. Now, with the 2026.2.3 update, this feature is rolled out in North America as well.

Tesla update 2026.2.3 also contains some hidden and undocumented features. The automaker also deployed some security and bug fixes in this update, which are not discussed in detail in the release notes.

In North America, the major chunk of Tesla fleet getting the 2026.2.3 update are the legacy Hardware-3 (HW3/AI3) cars running on FSD v12.6.4 and FSD v13.2.9. Tesla rolled out the last FSD update to HW3 cars in May 2025.

Hardware 4 (HW4/AI4)-equipped Tesla vehicles running on FSD v14 are not getting the new 2026.2.3 update. These vehicles with the new AI hardware are running on the firmware updates 2025.45.9 and 2025.45.9.1.

Tesla Update 2026.2.3 Official Release Notes

Unlatching Charge Cable

Charging can now be stopped and the charge cable released by pulling and holding the rear left door handle for 3 seconds, provided the vehicle is unlocked, or a recognized key is nearby. This is especially useful when the charge cable unlatch button does not work, or a charging adapter is stuck in the charge port. You can still release the cable using the vehicle touchscreen or the Tesla app.

Unlatching the charge cable and stopping the vehicle charging process becomes easier in the Tesla software update version 2026.2.3.

Child Left Alone Detection

If an unattended child is detected, the vehicle will flash the exterior indicator lights, play an alert tone, and send a notification to your Tesla app. This will repeat at regular intervals until you return to your vehicle.
