Yesterday, Tesla (TSLA) started rolling out the much-awaited Full Self-Driving (Supervised) v13 software. The official release notes of FSD v13 outline the massive improvements and fundamental changes introduced in this version.
With the release of FSD v13, the Tesla AI team has started utilizing the impressive processing power of the HW4/AI4 computer which we have covered a bit in our previous post.
Other than that, the tech automaker also introduced some new features in the FSD v13, especially the autonomous park, reverse park, and unpark functionality. The autonomous parking feature is the favorite one for the early access testers group (videos below).

FSD v13: Road to Zero Interventions
After the initial driving tests of FSD v13, non-employee beta testers are reporting a significant drop in ‘disengagements’ or the number of times they had to intervene and take control of the vehicle due to safety reasons.
However, the system needs to be tested extensively in the coming weeks and months to give us a good amount of data to assess if the interventions have reduced significantly.
Start FSD from Park
Tesla has introduced a new feature in FSD v13 that allows the car to instantly go into Full Self-Driving mode while parked with a single press of a button on the center display screen.
After the installation of the FSD v13 OTA update, a dialogue appears on the screen asking to enable the Start FSD (Supervised) button (see screenshot below). This allows the vehicle user to directly access FSD while the car is parked. After pressing this button, the vehicle will unpark itself and start to drive itself using FSD v13.

Park, Unpark, and Reverse Park
FSD v13 tester AI DRIVR / YouTube reported that his Tesla car carried out the entire drive on its own — from his garage to the destination. The vehicle unparked, drove, and reverse-parked into a parking space without any human intervention.
Interestingly, in another video, we can witness that a Tesla car running on FSD v13 navigates the parking and reverse parks itself into a Supercharger stall for charging. This has been witnessed for the first time since FSD Beta was released in 2020.
Navigating City Streets on FSD v13
The few Tesla owners who received the FSD v13 update hurried to test their vehicles to check the improvements it brought with itself.
@DirtyTesla took for a drive on snowy roads. Although he drove the vehicle with 0 interventions, the car got confused around a parking lot where snow covered the road and it wasn’t able to find a parking lot (nothing safety-related).
