Yesterday, we covered the new and improved features that Tesla (TSLA) is bringing in this year’s holiday season software update. However, it dawned on me that it’s wise to separate the Cybertruck updates in a new post for clarity.

In the Tesla Holiday Update 2024, Cybertruck gets the generic features like the rest of the Tesla vehicle lineup. However, there are a few fun and exciting options that Tesla has developed specifically for the Cybertruck.

The most interesting new feature of the 2024 Tesla Holiday Update is the launch of the Apple Watch app (details/release notes here).

After installing the free over-the-air update this holiday season, Cybertruck owners will be able to pair their Apple Watch to their pickup truck. This will allow them to use the Apple Watch Tesla app as a key for their Cybertruck along with other features like opening the frunk and turning on climate control.

Cybertruck Custom Wraps and License Plate Customization

This is another interesting upcoming feature that allows Tesla Cybertruck owners to customize the vehicle’s on-screen avatar’s exterior. You can apply one of the predefined Cybertruck wraps and license plate designs.

Designs of these on-screen Cybertruck wraps and license plates can be customized by users. Technical details of customization are pending. According to Tesla, these instructions will be posted on GitHub soon.
