Earlier this week, Dan Priestly, leading the Tesla Semi program, posted the link to an updated Tesla map for its existing and planned Megacharger stations in the United States (full list below).
This updated map shows two current and 60 upcoming Tesla Semi Megacharger locations across the US. From the West to the East Coast, from Washington to Philadelphia, and from California to Florida.
Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) has strategically planned the Semi Megacharger locations to connect the most important logistics routes in the United States. In addition to these, Tesla is open to suggestions by its customers and logistics/supply chain experts to place new Megachargers, as Dan mentioned in his LinkedIn post.
Tesla’s Class 8 electric semi-truck houses a very large battery pack, around ~850 kWh. Tesla Superchargers that have a max power of 500 kW aren’t enough to charge a Semi. The first generation of Megachargers comes with a peak charging rate of 1.2 Megawatts.

Last year, Tesla announced that it’s adding 46 new Megacharger locations in the US. However, in the latest map update, Tesla has added 60 more locations.
With two active locations in Sparks, Nevada, and Lathrop, California, the total number of Megacharger locations on the map has now reached 62.
The first Megacharger at Giga Nevada covers Tesla’s own factory. Tesla manufactures cells and battery packs at its Gigafactory in Sparks, NV. So, having an on-campus Megacharging station helps Tesla ship its battery packs to its Fremont, California factory, where it makes Model 3, and soon-to-be-discontinued Model S and X.
The 2nd active location is near Tesla’s Megafactory in Lathrop, CA. This also helps Tesla ship Megapacks from this location to its customers and BESS project sites.
Another important Megarcharger location in the upcoming list is Robstown, TX. This is close to Tesla’s lithium factory in Corpus Christi. Tesla Semi-trucks will streamline the delivery of lithium from this location to the company’s cell manufacturing at Giga Nevada and other future locations.
According to the updated map, Texas leads with 19 Megacharger stations. California ranks second with 16 upcoming locations. Tesla is expected to complete a chunk of these locations this year (full list below).
Year 2027 was the previous target for 46 locations. However, the scenario is changing; Tesla will try to complete all of these locations by 2027.
