Tesla (TSLA) has shared multiple updates for its Semi-truck program at a time when its share price is down around ~10% year-to-date (YTD). Due to the global peace and economic conditions, the entire stock market is showing a downward trend.
However, Tesla’s strategy to keep producing great products shows the company’s commitment to its goals of sustainable transport and the mission of unrestrained abundance.
Tesla Semi is the company’s class-8 heavy-duty electric truck. It’s the first in the logistics industry to aim to fully transition to EV technology and abandon fossil fuels.
The electric automaker shared on the Elon Musk-owned social media platform X that the Tesla Semi factory is nearing completion. Last year at the Annual Shareholder Meeting, Musk said that volume production of the Tesla Semi will start in 2026.

Winter Testing of the Design-Refreshed Tesla Semi
Tesla shared some stunning images of the design-refreshed Tesla Semi after conducting rounds of winter and snow testing. The automaker has a winter testing facility in Alaska. Occasionally, Tesla tests its vehicles for winter and snow performance in New Zealand and Iceland as well.
“North to the future,” this is the only hint about the location of the Semi-truck snow tests, dropped by the company in its official X post.
In the early prototype phase, Tesla also conducted cold-weather tests on the Semi-truck in Canada in 2020. After several years, as the electric vehicle-maker updated the design of the Semi-truck, it’s doing cold-weather testing once again.
Tesla did not share a video of the winter testing on the Semi, and no other details were given about the location. The company is expected to share details of these cold-weather and snow performance tests at the production start event this year.

Tesla Semi-truck Factory Completion Update
After years of promises by Elon Musk, Tesla is finally at the stage of starting Semi-truck production this year.
“Semi Factory nearing completion,” Tesla’s official X account announced on Thursday. This message was added in a repost of the pictures of the inside of the Tesla Semi factory.
Aside from the factory inside pics and Tesla Semis charging at the Giga Nevada Megachargers, the influencer also posted a picture of the light tunnel made for the Semi.
Tesla is most probably going to hold an event as it starts the Semi production at its manufacturing facility in Sparks, Nevada. The light tunnel and ramp completion suggest that this launch event is very close.
First Megacharger Opened in Los Angeles
In our last Tesla Semi report, we posted the entire list of Megacharger stations that the automaker plans to open in the US. As Tesla is moving fast with its Semi Program now, it has already made one location functional.
Tesla has opened California’s first Megacharger station in Los Angeles. The following are its address details:
Ontario, CA – E Guasti Rd
4265 E Guasti Rd
Ontario, CA 91761
Tesa has planned an extensive Semi-truck charging network across the US. This network will enable logistics companies and service providers to quickly charge their trucks as they move goods city-to-city and state-to-state.
Tesla announced the opening of the first Megacharger station in LA just a few hours ago.
