Tesla has just revealed the 4th part of its Master Plan. This time though, it’s not a written blog post by Elon Musk, but video showing the company’s mission and future ambitions with real-world AI at the core of it all.
We’ll keep talking about the Tesla’s real-world AI applications for self-driving vehicles, robotics, and manufacturing automation in the future. However, something of sudden interest was spotted in the new ‘Master Plan Part IV | Sustainable Abundance‘ video.
While showing the Cybercab clay model carving at a Tesla factory, a few Cybertruck-inspired miniature vehicles can be seen in the background (if you’ve a sharp eye, of course; otherwise, scroll below).
These mini models look like Cyber SUV or Cyber Vans based on the design language of the unorthodox and pointy Cybertruck. Letting people see these vehicle models in a major promotional video cannot be a coincidence. Tesla does it intentionally to spark interest and debate, sometimes, things actually make it to production.
The above view is most probably from the Tesla Design Studio in Hawthorne, California. The video clip was probably recorded during the early phase of the Cybercab robotaxi design.
However, the presence of the Cybertruck-inspired SUV and Van design models in the Tesla Studio is interesting. This shows that the automaker at least has designed some concepts around these ideas.
Although the Cybertruck electric pickup truck gained popularity on social media and in meme culture, it has yet to impress the auto industry and investors through its sales figures.
Tesla Cybertruck’s lower-than-expected sales might end any possibilities of a Cyber SUV or a Cyber Van in the future. But, until Elon Musk is at the helm of the company, you should expect odd outcomes (at least they get people to talk about the product and the company).
Fans of the Cybertruck design theme have been imagining an SUV and a Van for a long time. The following fan-made Cyber SUV makes the most sense to me and closely resembles the design revealed in the new video (screenshot above).
Master Plan Part 4 | Sustainable Abundance
In the first three parts of the Tesla Master Plan, Elon Musk set the company’s direction to transition the world’s transport to sustainable energy (electric vehicles).
Musk started writing these Master Plans in 2006. In 2023, the Master Plan Part 3 focused on sustainable energy storage and deployment. In recent quarters, Tesla has significantly excelled in this business area.
However, the world driven by AI in 2025 demands something different. Under Elon Musk’s vision and leadership, Tesla is now transitioning itself into a real-world AI company, mainly through its Autopilot Full Self-Driving, Robotaxis, Humanoid Robots, and automated manufacturing.
Master Plan Part IV (Sustainable Abundance) aims to unlock the full potential of technological advancements that enable humanity to focus on the purpose of life rather than survival.
