Tesla owners who have luckily got the FSD v14 Lite update on their legacy Hardware 3 (HW3) cars are flaunting all the cool tricks on YouTube and X (watch below).
FSD v14 Lite is apparently performing better than it was expected to. Owners of the older HW3 Teslas had lost hope that they would get any form of Full Self-Driving AI on their cars. However, the initial rollout of FSD v14 Lite at the end of June reignited the hopes.
Interestingly, the FSD v14 Lite software update is still only a limited release, even when existing users are showing good results. It has been more than two weeks since the first rollout of FSD v14 Lite started, but Tesla does not seem to have made it a wide release.
On Friday, July 10, Tesla began the rollout of FSD v14 Lite in Korea. The automaker announced the Korean FSD v14 Lite in a post on X.
However, as of this writing, there is no word from Elon Musk, Ashok Elluswamy, or the Tesla AI team on further expansion of FSD v14 Lite in the United States and Canada.
Tesla software updates tracking data from both TeslaFi.com and Tessie.com shows that FSD v14 Lite is currently rolled out to less than 0.1% of the Tesla fleet. Millions of Hardware 3 Tesla car owners are waiting to get the update globally.
Currently, only a handful of Early Access Tesla owners have received the FSD v14 Lite update on their HW3 cars. The curious thing about this update is that Tesla hasn’t given it a point release version. The firmware version is 2026.20.5.1, which hasn’t been updated in the last two weeks with a new firmware release.
The silence from Tesla suggests that a wide release of FSD v14 Lite is not close. It can happen in the next few weeks or can even take months if more data validation is required to push it to a large number of Tesla HW3 owners.

FSD v14 Lite Reviews
Tesla owner Chris (@BLKMDL3) drove his HW3 Model 3 from LA to San Diego without any disengagements. Extensive tests like this provide valuable feedback and data to Tesla to prepare for a wide release.
Another Tesla owner posted a video of his HW3 Tesla pulling over for an emergency vehicle. This function was added in FSD v13 using AI Vision and audio inputs, but it wasn’t available on HW3 cars.
Tesla FSD v14 Lite is also seen doing well in rainy weather conditions. You can also watch a test video from South Korea, as it has been available there for the last few days.
