Tesla (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk made a big announcement about Full Self-Driving (Supervised) v12 on his social media platform X (previously Twitter).
This declaration went widely unnoticed because of his short responses in the form of replies in other Tesla enthusiasts’ discussions on X.
Elon Musk has clearly said that the upcoming FSD (Supervised) v12.4 will completely remove nags from the system. These audio-visual nags are a safety feature that remind Tesla drivers using the Autopilot Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature to keep their hands on the steering wheel and eyes on the road.
This bold declaration by Elon Musk doesn’t come without a surprise to the majority of the Tesla owners and enthusiast community. Regulators, on the other hand, would be even more surprised — but that’s a topic for another day.
Musk’s statement about removing the safety nags from the FSD (Supervised) feature came as a surprise. One of the long-time FSD Beta testers and Tesla retail investors Omar (Whole Mars Catalog) asked to cease these annoying nags altogether.
Musk said, “Fixed in 12.4”. This response created confusion as to what he was referring to as “fixed”. To be 100% sure of what everyone was thinking Musk meant, another Telsa FSD Beta tester and Tesla owner Farzad asked Musk a direct question. Farzad posted on X:

To this detailed question, Elon Musk replied with a simple “Yes”. This response cleared any clouds over the removal of the bothersome safety alerts during FSD drives.
Elon Musk also said that the upcoming FSD v12.4 is a major upgrade over the previous versions. “The 12.3.x releases are very minor changes,” he said.
According to Eon Musk, Tesla AI engineers are working on fine-tuning FSD v12.4. The current build Tesla employees are testing can be too aggressive in acceleration and braking for most people’s liking.
Musk also revealed that even FSD v12.5 and v12.6 are in various stages of development (constant innovation is Tesla’s core work ethic).
12.4 has almost completely retrained models. The final touches are for comfort, as it sometimes accelerates or brakes too fast for most people’s taste.
12.5 and 12.6 are in various stages of testing. We’re getting into rare, complex situations, for example: going down a narrow, one-way road, encountering a road closure and having to reverse out to find a new route.
That closure also needs to be communicated to the rest of the fleet, so you don’t get a whole bunch of Teslas stuck down a road

However, the big question remains unanswered, Tesla is still going to be adding the “Supervised” suffix to FSD v12.4 in software release notes and elsewhere. Time will tell but you can also add your thoughts in the comments section below.
In another X post, Musk said that FSD v12.4 rollout is most probably going to start next week. He once again said that this latest version “will blow your mind”.
