Tesla (TSLA) has started the rollout of a new over-the-air (OTA) software release version 2025.14.7. This is a minor bug fixing update over the previous Spring Update point release 2025.14.6 which fixed the TCU issue (sleep mode malfunction).

The tech & AI automaker did not provide any specific release notes of this version. However, some undocumented changes were noted by Not A Tesla App website.

The 2025.14.7 software update is a subset of the original 2025 Spring Update. So, the release notes are the same as the main branch 2025.14.

Tesla influencer and FSD early access beta tester, Chuck Cook was the first one to report the availability of the 2025.14.7 update on his Cybertruck yesterday.

Additional reports from non-early access Tesla owners started to surface on X (Twitter). This hinted that this version is a wide release rollout. Looking at the Tesla software tracking data on TeslaFi.com, non-US Tesla owners are also receiving the 2025.14.7 OTA update.

As of this writing, around 1% of the Tesla global fleet of electric vehicles has received the 2025.14.7 update. However, the update is going out fast. No new version of Full Self-Driving (FSD) was rolled out with this software release.

Some Tesla owners also reported that they had not received the previous 2025.14.6 update but are now directly getting the latest version 2025.14.7.

Cybertruck Installation Issue

Tesla Cybertruck owner and influencer @DirtyTesla reported a rare occurrence when installing the 2025.14.7 update. The update did not install properly and displayed an error message.

Before this installation attempt, @DirtyTesla’s Cybertruck was on version 2025.14.6.

The following error message was displayed after the failed installation attempt:

Update did not complete successfully. Please wait for a new update to be sent to your car.

Unexpectedly, the error message was in red color. This was a bit troublesome for the owner as the Cybertruck might have become unusable (bricked) if there was a malfunction in software installation procedure.

Simultaneously, a notification also appeared on the connected Tesla mobile app saying “Software update has failed”.

To the relief of the owner, the Cybertruck software rolled back to the previous version 2025.14.6 automatically. The Cybertruck became driveable after the rollback.

However, this was a very rare happening, and other Cybertruck units have installed the same update without any trouble.
