The internet is bursting with review videos of Tesla’s FSD (Supervised) version 14. However, there are subtle improvements in the system that require keep observation to be spotted.
Tesla owner, influencer, and FSD beta tester Sawyer Merritt pointed out such a small but important change to the on-screen Autopilot FSD driving visualizations. He posted a short video on Elon Musk’s social media platform to showcase the new feature.
After updating to to FSD v14.1, the vehicle running on FSD (ego car) shows a blue color neon-glow under the car’s model on screen. This blue neon glow is only visible when Autopilot Full Self-Driving is actively driving the vehicle under human supervision.

Until FSD v13, an Autopilot (steering) icon appeared on the screen. As the car is driven by FSD, the icon turns blue, and when it’s inactive, the icone turns grey. Depending on the point release, the icon placement could be bottom-center, right-middle, or top-left or top-right.
FSD v14 comes with a more easily recognizable active state of Autopilot. The vehicle shows a blue underglow light during the active state as shown in the video above and screenshot below.
The ego Model Y car rendering in FSD v14 also looks more crisp with great attention to detail. The AMD Ryzen-based GPU in HW4 (AI4) Tesla vehicles is a powerful processor that renders the Autopilot/FSD data into 3D vehicles and objects onto the car’s screen.
