The most widely available Tesla Full Self-Driving (Supervised) version at the moment is FSD v14.2.2 (2025.45.5). Tesla owners have shared their experiences with this point release.

Although most of the reviews shared by testers of FSD v14.2.2 are positive, there are always some weak points, as Tesla FSD still requires human supervision, just in case of a safety incident. However, these safety-related events are becoming an infrequent occurrence with each new update.

So, let’s go through some good and bad reviews of FSD v14.2.2 in this post. This will give us an idea of what Tesla has achieved with back-to-back FSD v14 updates. You can read the updated release notes of FSD v14.2.2 and FSD v14.2.2.2 here.

Attention Monitoring Sensitivity

As the FSD v14.2.2 and FSD v14.2.2 Release Notes have mentioned, based on cabin camera visibility and human supervision behavior, the attention monitoring sensitivity is going to decrease or increase.

A Tesla owner has already reported that in FSD v14.2.2, the AI system in his 2024 Tesla Model S has significantly increased attention monitoring and alerts. It’s so much so that he has to constantly keep his hands on the steering wheel with light pressure.

Lane Change Hesitation

The following video and feedback shared by a Tesla owner show that sometimes FSD v14.2.2 (2025.45.5) experiences hesitation when changing lanes. In this specific scenario, his vehicle got confused and constantly turned the turn signals on and off.

“FSD V14.2.2 has been abysmal for me. Putting turn signals on, beginning to move out of lane, then quickly aborting for no reason,” Marcust wrote on X.

This issue does not seem to be widespread but is experienced by some Tesla FSD v14 users. Such issues must have pushed the Tesla AI team to release the FSD v14.2.2.2 (2025.45.7) update.

FSD v14.2.2: NYC Streets Test

A Tesla owner tested FSD v14.2.2 in the narrow and traffic-congested streets of New York. Unlike the previous review above, this Tesla owner did not experience any anomaly. He didn’t have to intervene even once during the entire drive.

This Tesla owner compares the Tesla FSD v14 driving experience to a form of art. He also says that Tesla’s Full Self-Driving AI technology drove better than most human drivers in NYC.

FSD v14.2.2 Stops for a Railroad Crossing for the First Time

Another Tesla owner was going on his routine Full Self-Driving test drive when he encountered a railroad track ahead, going across the street. Surprisingly, Tesla FSD v14.2.2 stopped for the railroad crossing.

According to this Tesla FSD user, this is the first time he has experienced this behavior with FSD v14.2.2. Previous versions didn’t stop at this railroad track.

Mad Max Speed Profile in Inclement Weather, First Impressions

Tesla influencer @BlackTesla/YouTube usually receives the latest version of FSD as soon as it becomes available. FSD v14.2.2 was no different for him.

In the following YouTube video, he shared his first impressions of FSD v14.2.2 as he drove on snowy roads during inclement weather conditions.

If you set your speed profile to Mad Max Mode in harsh winter conditions, Tesla AI will automatically set it back to Standard. This is done for safety reasons, as the vehicle maintains normal speeds and lane change behavior in Standard Mode compared to the aggressive Mad Max Mode.

Black Tesla also reported navigation issues. These issues most probably started after Tesla integrated the Grok AI assistant into Tesla’s in-car navigation in this year’s Holiday Update.

Tesla YouTuber also praised Tesla FSD’s safety and caution for pedestrians. We saw an example of this behavior in Tesla AI Head Ashok Elluswamy’s video demo of Unsupervised FSD.
