Yesterday, we reported the delay of the 7th Starship flight test announced by SpaceX CEO Elon Musk during a video game stream.

The dramatic announcement shocked the global spaceflight enthusiasts community and SpaceX fans as they were anxiously waiting for the highly-anticipated Starship Flight 7 launch and landing test (IFT-7).

However, a few hours ago, SpaceX updated its Starship Flight 7 official updates page with a new tentative date. The next Starship launch window is NET Monday, 13th January 2025 (that’s the upcoming Monday).

“The seventh flight test of Starship is preparing to launch as soon as Monday, January 13,” SpaceX announced.

Update: SpaceX once again delays Flight 7 launch to Wednesday, know the reasons

The announcement was not relayed through X (Twitter) which has now become an official media partner of all Elon Musk companies.

As Musk predicted, the IFT-7 test would get delayed by 3-4 days and we estimated that the test wouldn’t happen during the weekend. There has been no official word on why the launch test was delayed. There has been significant rain at Starbase, Boca Chica, Texas in the last few days.

It’s important to remember that Monday, 13th January is the no-earlier-than (NET) date for the flight test. If weather conditions and all flight equipment are ready, only then the test will be conducted on Monday, otherwise, it can get delayed to Tuesday as well.

Earlier this week, SpaceX brought the Starlink V2 simulators to the Starbase launch site (first-look image and video below). These dummy Starlink satellites will be used as a deployment test among other experiments during the space journey of the upper stage Flight 7 Starship (Ship 33).

The preparations to fly Starship for the 7th time and attempt a landing catch for the 2nd at the SpaceX Starbase launch site are in full swing (if all requirements during the flight are met perfectly).
