Elon Musk’s Tesla (TSLA) and Boring Companies are nearing the completion of a tunnel at Giga Texas in a joint venture called the Cybertunnel. Yesterday’s drone footage of the tunnel’s exit opening shows that’s designed just like the Cybertruck body.
Around a week before Christmas, The Boring Company shared a photo of a Cybertruck inside the Cybertunnel. It was expected that Tesla would complete the tunnel before the holidays but it seems that the exit opening had to be designed. The inside of the tunnel looks complete already.
Cybertunnel at Giga Texas will be used as a birthing tunnel starting from the Cybertruck production area (assembly line, final touches) to the outbound lot of the Gigafactory. This tunnel will help reduce the time and effort to deliver Cybertrucks outside the factory to be loaded on trailers for shipments in the US & Canada.
The Cybertunnel exit station isn’t complete yet but we can clearly see that it’s taking the shape of a Cybertruck. The picture above is from Monday (6th Jan) which shows that a few panels are still missing but it’s geared towards completion.
Just like the Tesla Cybertruck, the Cybertunnel exit station cover is designed with stainless steel panels. Several panels are welded together on a steel frame to give it the shape of a Cyebrtruck.
Tesla or The Boring Company haven’t shared the view of the entry gate of the Cybertrunnel which is located inside the Gigafactory. All we can see is the outside opening.
In the latest drone video of Giga Texas by local observer Joe Tegtmeyer, we can see that Tesla has been testing the tunnel as well. I’ve taken a screenshot from the video above that shows a Cybertruck outside the opening of the Cybertunnel.
This Cybertruck was spotted coming out of the tunnel and going back inside. Most probably, Tesla will be sharing the inside views of the Cybertunnel, its progress, and its effectiveness in the upcoming Q4 2024 Earnings Call with Elon Musk and financial update docket.
