Tesla (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk spoke out on his social media platform regarding the final release date of the highly anticipated Full Self-Driving version 14 (FSD v14) update.

Although he already gave out a full point-release timeline last week. But why would it be called Elon Time if it wasn’t going to be delayed? FSD v14 couldn’t be different.

However, a good thing has happened as the update is delayed, Tesla AI team caught and fixed a bug at the last minute, according to Musk.

Elon Musk said that finally, the FSD v14 rollout is going to being on Monday, 6th October. Now, this is a more rock-solid rollout date. The Tesla Community was expecting it this weekend.

“Last minute bug cropped up with V14. Released is pushed to Monday, but that gives us time to add a few more features,” Elon Musk responded to a Tesla owner on X.

Tesla owners and enthusiasts had been asking Elon Musk and the Tesla AI team to either start the rollout of FSD v14 or give a solid date. Musk responded when a Tesla owner said his mom was asking — it worked.

The FSD v14 rollout sequence is going to remain the same as previously described by Elon Musk. New and common Tesla owners shouldn’t expect it on Monday, as it’s going to go out to the early access beta testers first.

It could take a few weeks until Christmas before the FSD v14 update goes truly wide release in the United States. Tesla did catch a last-minute bug, but there are going to be more as it gets tested by non-employees in a variety of scenarios, geographical locations, and terrain.

According to the CEO, FSD v14 is going to be the biggest update to Tesla’s self-driving software since FSD v12. First, Tesla owners and enthusiasts expected FSD 14 to be Unsupervised FSD, but it’s not the case.

Perhaps a future version will make it truly Full Self-Driving without human supervision. Stay tuned as we take you along with us on this exciting journey.
