Tesla charging partner Harris Ranch Inn & Restaurant has announced that Tesla has applied for the construction of the world’s largest Supercharger station adjacent to their restaurant.

Harris Ranch is located at I-5 and Hwy 198 in Coalinga, California. The restaurant already has a Supercharger station with 13 stalls available 24x7x365 for Tesla owners to fill up their batteries with fresh electrons.

The upscale restaurant has its own farm spanning an huge area of 17,000 acres. Because ample land is already available, Tesla will not face any hassle in building the world’s largest Supercharger station that is expected to have more than 100 Supercharger stalls.

Harris Ranch announced this news via the company’s official Instagram account, the post read:

As you may already know, Harris Ranch Inn and Restaurant is a  proud partner with Tesla Motors to host a Tesla Supercharger station. Thirteen Supercharger stalls are available on a daily basis, 24 hours a day 365 days a year!

🎉 We are excited to announce that Tesla has applied for the construction of the world’s largest Supercharger, which could consist of more than 100 stalls, and will be located right here at Harris Ranch in Coalinga, California.

Tesla Supercharger station in Shanghai, China currently holds the crown of the world’s largest Tesla charging station with 72 stalls.

While Tesla opened the largest U.S. Supercharger station with 56 stalls in Firebaugh, California last year November, the Harris Ranch station would be double in size when launched.

Since Tesla has just applied to start construction of this huge Supercharger station, it’s difficult to predict a timeline for it to be completed at this time.

Another major improvement Tesla is bringing to the existing Supercharger stations is the roof above the stalls is fully covered with solar panels. This is generating free electricity to charge Tesla’s electric vehicles.

The roofs of the Supercharger in Firebaugh, CA have already been converted to solar panels as we can see in the following file photo of this location. The sunlight in California during the daytime is good enough to prepare a significant amount of electricity for Teslas looking to power up for their next journey.

According to the data collected and compiled to a map by the website supercharger.info, United States alone has now over 1,000 Supercharger locations. 1,014 to be exact at the time of this writing, 54 are under construction, and the application process is underway for another 109 locations.

Looking at the worldwide data, there are now 2,687 functional Supercharger stations, 93 under construction, and 162 are going through approval processes.

Tesla Supercharger network alone is the biggest advantage Tesla has over traditional automakers who are struggling to provide affordable, fast, and easily available charging options to their customers.
