Leaked photo of the Tesla Cybertruck bed reveals 3 power outlets of 120 and 240 volts

As close as we get to the Cybertruck Delivery Event, the excitement around the unconventional electric pickup truck is reaching its zenith. After looking at a massive number of Cybertruck prototypes this year, some features are still a mystery — power output was one of them.

Not sure how, but someone was able to get a closeup picture of the Cybertruck power outlets. This is probably the first and only picture of the power outlets integrated into the side wall of the Cybertruck’s bed.

Tesla Cybertruck has three power outlets, two of which are 120 volt and one is 240 volt output (pic below). Both the 120V power outlets are placed above the 240V outlet located on the left side of the bed wall.

The 220V power outlet of the Cybertruck is a NEMA 14-50 socket design. This opens up a lot of possibilities for Tesla owners such as charging another Tesla at home using the Tesla Wall Charger.

When not in use, the power outlets are concealed by a cover as we can see in the following picture. Below the power outlet box, we can see a latch or tie-down hook that is most probably pulled to open the outlet door. The latch is made out of metal and is bulky.

The photo was revealed by the YouTube channel @TFLEV. According to the channel, a Tesla insider source sent this picture to them.

In his early tweets about a Tesla pickup truck, the company’s CEO Elon Musk hinted that it will have power outlets to allow owners to work in the field using high-power machines and equipment.

“Pickup truck will have power outlets allowing the use of heavy-duty 240V, high power tools in the field all day. No generator needed,” he tweeted back in 2018 when the Cybertruck wasn’t even unveiled to the public.

According to a TFLEV channel host, the 220-volt outlet probably has a 2 kW label on it but it’s not 100% confirmed.

Cybertruck reservation holders and enthusiasts are taking this as a serious plus point of the Tesla pickup truck. A Tesla owner even said that he will power his entire home with the Cybertruck.

It will be interesting to see the various uses of the Tesla Cybertruck power outlets in the near future as it’s less than 3 weeks remaining when customer deliveries start. So stay tuned and let us know your comments below.

Update: Correction made from 120 and 240 volts to 120 and 240 volts.
