An unlucky Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 owner challenged the Tesla Model S Plaid to the dragstrip and the result witnessed in the latest video is devastating (for the Mustang of course).
Powered b the 5.2L Flat Plane Crank V8 engine, the Mustang Shelby GT350 didn’t stand a chance against the silent might of the Model S Plaid acceleration. This owner might just become a Tesla fan and leave the internal combustion engine (ICE) world for good, at least he won’t face this humiliation again in a Tesla, especially a Plaid.
However, if the Mustang driver knew that the Plaid Model S had almost double horsepower compared to his car (526 vs. 1020 hp) — he might have avoided this embarrassing situation at the earliest. This power coupled with instant acceleration and the Plaid acceleration mode and the Cheeta Stance, the new Model S Plaid is a total recipe of disaster for any production ICE car out there.
Perhaps it’s now time to put the Model S Plaid aginst a Rimac Nevera, what an epic all-electric drag race it would be — the most noise-free as well.
Not only the Plaid Model S but a Tesla Model 3 is also seen beating a BMW M3 in a drag race in this video, very satisfying to watch the ICE world becoming irrelevant day by day. The end of the ICE age will result in less CO2 emissions as well as a reduction in noise pollution too.
Tesla Model S Plaid’s success streak as a track race car is establishing with each passing day, first, it broke the quarter-mile world record, later on, defeated every ICE car in its category at the 2021 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. And it has not yet been a full month of its launch, amazing stuff by the Tesla team.
