Tesla (TSLA) has yet again scored a record quarter in terms of vehicle production and deliveries. In Q3 2021, Tesla delivered a historical 241,300 electric vehicles while it produced 237,823 cars.

Since Q3 2020, this is the 5th consecutive record quarter where the US-based automaker has produced and delivered more cars than the previous financial quarter. Tesla is reporting a consistent growth each Q — and this performance is making the TSLA short-sellers disappear from the Wall Street scene.

Following is the breakdown of the global Tesla car production and deliveries in Q3 2021 as reported by the automaker’s investor relations website.

The Q3 sales figures show a ~20% growth QoQ compared to the Q2 2021 figures. This can be easily attributed to an exceptional performance by the automaker.

Tesla has achieved this massive gain in vehicle deliveries with only two functional car production factories as of now (Fremont & Giga Shanghai).

Two Model Y factories, Giga Texas and Giga Berlin, are on the verge of completion and will be scaling up production as early as the first quarter of 2022.

Tesla, Inc. made the following announcement regarding the Q3 2021 vehicle production and deliveries on its investor relations website.

AUSTIN, Texas, October 2, 2021 – In the third quarter, we produced approximately 238,000 vehicles and delivered over 240,000 vehicles.  We would like to thank our customers for their patience as we work through global supply chain and logistics challenges.

Besides the great numbers, there is an even more interesting bit in this paragraph of text, despite mentioning Palo Alto, CA as the location of the announcement, Tesla chose to insert Austin, Texas.

Not to forget that Elon Musk moved to Texas at the end of last year because of the differences with the local county governments at the time of COVID-19 pandemic. Tesla even sued Alameda County for over the forced shutdown of the Fremont factory during the pandemic.

This tilt towards Texas might be an indicator of something deeper going on in Tesla, as Musk had once warned California that he would move Tesla HQ from the state.

Tesla is currently accepting questions at this link for the Q3 2021 Earnings Call. The questions form will be closed on October 7th.
