Tesla CEO Elon Musk suddenly re-opened a previous Twitter thread where he had once again mocked Senator Bernie Sanders with the famous meme showing the senator with a big mustache and wacky blue sunglasses.
“Sonic, the Hedgehog, game coming to all Teslas!,” Elon Musk posted. This addition of a retro video game from 2006 is part of the 2021 Christmas holiday software update that is due this year.
The last year’s holiday update (2020.48.26) had a ton of cool new features and improvements to the existing ones. But Musk hasn’t yet promised such a big update rollout this year (maybe because the software team is super busy with FSD Beta).
Last year, Tesla added 3 new games for its car owners to download and play (while the car is parked of course). These were The Battle of Polytopia, Cat Quest, and Solitaire.
Tesla might have been working with the Japanese game publisher Sega to have a slightly modified copy of this game. Like the Beach Buggy Racing 2 video game that featured a Tesla Model 3 in it. Also, large games like Cuphead are shortened for easy installation and lower usage of computing resources.
The big mustache on Bernie Sander’s meme refers to the character of the main antagonist in the Sonic the Hedgehog series named Doctor Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik. This reference speaks volumes about the rivalry between Elon Musk and Bernie Sanders.
Bernie thinks Musk’s fortune is not just the fruit of his own hard work, the emerald mines owned by his father in South Africa also have a role to play in his success.
Senator Sanders also thinks that ultra-billionaires like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos also need to be heavily taxed on their unrealized wealth (company shares/stock). This has also recently elevated the tension between the two.
