As the Tesla Cybertruck is getting into the hands of end-user owners, undiscovered features and functions are coming to light. One such interesting and useful feature is the front bumper camera washer.

Tesla cars have 9 Autopilot cameras (8 exterior, 1 cabin). Cybertruck has an additional camera installed in its front bumper. This is in place to help the vehicle see ground conditions in Autopilot mode and also help the driver while off-roading and parking the huge pickup truck.

The front bumper camera on a Cybertruck prototype was discovered a few months ago. Someone took spy photos of the interior showing this camera’s video feed on the truck’s center display. However, Tesla kept quiet about whether this camera would be available on customer delivery Cybertrucks.

As a limited number of Tesla Cybetrucks have been delivered since the Delivery Event Day, information about the hidden features is still scarce.

A Tesla owner posted a video of the Cybertruck’s front bumper camera on X (Twitter). Interestingly, the video shows how the camera washer works by spraying the washer fluid on the camera. This feature can be accessed through the Cybertruck center touchscreen display. A camera washer icon appears on the bottom left of the screen, tapping this icon triggers the Cybertruck front bumper camera washer spray (screenshot and videos below).

On rugged, sandy, dusty, muddy, and wet surfaces, the Cybertruck front bumper and its camera are bound to get seriously dirty. The ability to clean the front camera while sitting in the driver’s seat is a breeze of convenience.

However, Tesla Cybertruck reservation holders waiting in queue to get their delivery wish there was a similar function available for the rear camera as well.

Cybertruck is the first Tesla vehicle with a camera washer feature. The automaker might introduce this in other higher-end vehicles in the future, especially for the rear camera as other cameras are concealed and don’t need to be washed.
