Looks like Elon Musk’s tech & AI-based electric vehicle-maker Tesla (TSLA) is not going to wait until FSD v14.2 to make it a wide release.

Yesterday, many Tesla owners from the US & Canada started reporting getting the current FSD v14.1.4 (firmware version 2025.32.8.16) software update.

Data from Tesla software update rollout tracking websites TeslaFi.com, TeslaScope.com, and Tessie shows that around 50% of Tesla vehicles with the HW4/AI4 processor have received the new FSD v14.1.4 update.

Grok AI also recognized the wide rollout of FSD v14.1.4 to Tesla’s North American customers. The AI chatbot reported:

FSD v14 rollout is advancing rapidly, with over 50% of eligible HW4 Teslas now updated across North America. Recent user reports highlight versions like 14.1.4 achieving zero-intervention drives in many scenarios, showcasing significant improvements in smoothness and decision-making. Tesla continues pushing waves based on fleet data and safety metrics; check your app or request via service for your VIN’s status.

Tesla started rolling out the first FSD v14 update to the early access non-employee group earlier this month. Since then, Tesla rolled out multiple point release versions each week as the automaker received safety data and reviews from early access beta testers.

The wide release of FSD v14.1.4 comes after careful evaluation of the safety data with previous subversions on public roads. Tesla has still not rolled out this version to half of the Hardware-4 Tesla cars in the US, Canada, and Mexico.

The following FSD v14.1.4 software release graph shows that the rollout has slowed down after Tesla pushed it to the target user base. However, this slowdown can be temporary, Tesla might start another wave tomorrow or later in the week.

NHTSA FSD v14 Investigation

Earlier this month, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) opened an investigation into Tesla’s Full Self-Driving safety issues.

This investigation was triggered by a total of 58 FSD safety-related incidents reported to the NHTSA. Out of these 58 incidents, no fatality is reported.

Last week, NHTSA started another investigation into Tesla FSD’s Mad Max Mode driving profile. The automaker introduced this new driving profile for aggressive driving while the vehicle is driven by FSD v14. However, the reviews and videos of Mad Max Mode triggered this new investigation, first reported by Reuters.

These investigations might slow down the FSD v14 wide rollout and potentially delay the upcoming major FSD v14.2 update.

FSD v14.1.4 Early Reviews

In our previous report, we covered a specific Tesla FSD behavior that reverses the car in various scenarios. This FSD behavior is seen for the first time in v14.1.3 and v14.1.4.

As the user base of FSD v14 has now grown with the wide rollout, the system is getting tested by a large number of users in different scenarios. The following are some of the impressions from these early tests.
