Elon Musk wants to start a university in Texas that will have epic merch

Tesla & SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has just posted on Twitter that he wants to start a new University in Texas. He wants to name it “Texas Institute of Technology & Science (TITS)”.

With an unorthodox approach towards everything he does in life either it’s business or personal, “It will have epic merch,” he said in a follow-up tweet when announcing his plans for this university.

Vertical marketing with merchandise is Musk’s specialty as we have witnessed before when Tesla launched the Short Shorts, Tesla Tequila, and just recently Tesla Beer.

Being at the helm of technological advancements in the 21st century, Musk has a far better foresight of the future of work and education than most humans living on the planet. This is why he opened a super-secret school named Ad Astra at the SpaceX HQ where his own sons and a select few SpaceX employee children study.

Although the information is scarce about how and what is taught at Elon Musk’s school Ad Astra, it’s believed that children learn critical thinking and get hands-on experience with the latest engineering and technology from an early age.

Musk has been vocal about the flaws of the traditional education system and that he thinks the future generations should be taught and trained in a new way. His new brainchild, the Texas University of Technology & Science just might be the answer to this problem.

Someone on Twitter just poked fun at Elon Musk saying “funding secured,” and Musk replied “Obv,” short-form for obviously. Fan hinted at Elon Musk’s historical “$420 funding is secured” tweet that cost him the chairmanship of the Tesla board.

Of course, being the richest person in the world with a net worth of $302 billion (Bloomberg list), Musk does not need funding to open a school, he can more than fund this venture with his own money.

Either intentionally or coincidentally, the acronym of the Texas Institute of Technology & Science has also been of interest to Elon Musk’s fans. However, it should not be entirely taken as a humorous tweet by Musk.

The probability of this university becoming a reality is likely very high. In the recent past, we have seen that Musk’s tweets have come to fruition either it is about Dogecoin, Tesla accepting and investing in Bitcoin, and Musk selling all his homes in California, etc.

In the coming weeks and months, we will most probably witness the groundbreaking of the Texas Institute of Technology & Science by Elon Musk. The best location I can think of is at the Gigafactory Texas.

Texas has been Elon Musk’s favorite US state because of the SpaceX Starship program and as Tesla moves its HQ to the Southwest state from California. Musk personally moved from California to Texas towards the end of last year.
