World’s richest person, Elon Musk’s tech & AI-driven electric vehicle-maker Tesla (TSLA) has started a new program to spread awareness of its Autopilot Full Self-Driving (FSD) system.

This new FSD (Supervised) perception-building program is called ‘Tesla Ride’. The automaker is offering free rides in its FSD-enabled cars to interested persons across the United States to experience the FSD system.

Tesla Ride allows non-Tesla owners a chance to personally test Tesla FSD (Supervised). Seeing a video of a self-driving Tesla on a screen is a different thing, while experiencing it first-hand is totally different.

Tesla started sending out emails to invite users to the Tesla Ride program a few days ago. The interesting thing in this program is that a Tesla vehicle and a support person will come to you to take you wherever you want to go using Autopilot Full Self-Driving (Supervised).

You can read how to get the Tesla Ride in your city/state below.

Allowing non-owners to get a Tesla Ride experience with FSD is not just going to increase awareness about Tesla’s advanced self-driving AI technology. This move by Tesla has the potential to let a large number of the American population know how good the Tesla electric cars are as daily drivers and long-journey tourers.

Besides FSD, Tesla vehicles feature other advanced features like safety, in-car entertainment (video & audio streaming, video games, etc.), Sentry Mode, fuel and maintenance savings.

A Tesla owner on Reddit shared her experience of owning a Tesla vehicle for 75,000 miles and how this decision has saved her a significant amount of time and money over the years:

Actually, my Tesla has been the least expensive car to own I’ve ever had. I charge off solar panels, so I don’t pay for gas. I’ve never had to change the oil or oil filter or spark plugs or had a catalytic converter stolen or had to replace a coil or a muffler or a knock sensor or automatic transmission fluid or replace a fuel injector or a fuel filter or a PCV valve or had a leaky valve cover gasket or flush the radiator or replace a water pump or radiator hose or thermostat or exhaust manifold gasket or timing belt or plug wires fuel pump or MAP sensor or TP sensor or motor mount or U-joint or rear main seal or freeze plug.

I did swap out the tires at 75,000 km. And now beginning our forth winter, I think one of the wipers might need replacing.

The Tesla Ride experience will let the common Americans know these benefits and create awareness that Tesla is a genuine American car company (neutralizing the political polarity against Tesla).
