After leading the world in electric vehicle production, Tesla (TSLA) is now on a mission to jolt the car racing world. The automaker introduced an OEM brakes & wheels upgrade kit last month aka Track Package for Tesla Model S Plaid.
Tesla Model S Plaid is already ruling the quarter-mile drag racing arena with the stock setup. Now it’s time to aim high for the curly, curvy, and edgy race tracks. And the Track Pack is here to handle this all.
For a real-world test, Tesla took a Model S Plaid equipped with the Track Package to the notorious Nurburgring race circuit.
Nurburgring is the ultimate test of a car’s handling and performance. So, Tesla Model S Plaid proved it’s able to do better with the Track Package.
Track Pack Model S Plaid set a new production EV lap record at the Nurburgring. It completed the lap in just 7:25.231 (video below).
Model S Plaid broke its own previous Nurburgring EV lap record of 7:30.909 which was set in September 2021.
The addition of the Track Pack enabled Tesla Model S Plaid to complete the Nurburgring lap around 5 seconds earlier than the previous record. It’s a great achievement when it comes to such a difficult race track.

The interesting thing was the Out of Stock message showing for the Track Package at the Tesla online shop. This happened just hours after Tesla posted the new Nurburgring lap record video on Twitter and YouTube.
Even after days have passed by, Tesla has not re-stocked the Track Pack to its online store. Track Package was completely sold out despite a fat price tag of $15,000 – $20,000 USD.
