Tesla (TSLA) is on a frenzy of over-the-air software updates lately. The tech automaker’s software & AI teams are constantly pushing new features to its vehicle lineup.
Cybertruck has received a new update 2024.26.11. The unconventionally designed electric pickup truck received a new ‘Tesla Vision Park Assist’ feature in this update.
FSD Supervised tester and social influencer Chuck Cook was one of the first Cybertruck owners to receive, install, and test the Tesla Auto Park Assist feature (watch below).
This new feature shouldn’t be confused with Vision Auto Park which is fully autonomous self-parking that’s not yet available. The Tesla Vision Park Assist in the 2024.26.11 update is a feature that utilizes Tesla Vision to help the driver park the large Cybertruck. Since there are no ultrasonic sensors installed on the Cybertruck, it uses AI vision (camera-based distance measuring) to sense the objects around it.
Cybertruck Update 2024.26.11 Release Notes
The last Cybertruck update was version 2024.26.7 which brought the Summer Update to Tesla’s EV pickup truck earlier this week. Tesla has released another update in a short span of a week to the Cybertruck.
Tesla has currently released the 2024.26.11 update to a very limited number of Cybertruck units. According to TeslaFi.com statistics, only 2 Cybertrucks have received the update as of this writing (around 18 hours after the initial release).

Tesla Vision Park Assist
Tesla Vision Park Assist now displays a high-fidelity 3D representation of the world around your vehicle, including the proximity and shape of nearby objects, barriers, vehicles, and painted road markings.
You can use Park Assist with or without audible feedback. To turn chimes on or off, go to Controls > Safety > Park Assist Chimes.
Note that Park Assist is for guidance purposes only and is not a substitute for an alert driver. Remain attentive and avoid obstacles as required.
Tesla Cybertruck Vision Park Assist in Action
Chuck Cook tested the new Tesla Vision Park Assist feature this morning in his Cybertruck. His video review of the feature shows how this function works while the driver is trying to park the truck in a parking lot.
The high-fidelity animated 3D render on the Cybertruck screen shows the proximity of objects and curbs perfectly. However, it appears to be more cautious than a human driver. While Chuck was testing it in an open parking lot, it constantly showed a red visual alert for the proximity of the median curb while the driver assessed it was safe to turn the Cybertruck.
Cybertruck’s Tesla Vision system also did not visualize a steel shopping cart paddock on the screen. Perhaps, the Tesla neural net hasn’t been trained much on identifying corrals/paddocks.
The joy of owning a Tesla vehicle is that you get new features from time to time in free over-the-air (OTA) software updates. This new Cybertruck update is one of those cool things that give the automaker an edge over others in the automotive industry.
