Tesla (TSLA) started rolling out a new over-the-air (OTA) software update version 2024.26.7 to its Cybertruck fleet earlier this week.
This Cybertruck OTA update branch is a subversion of the Summer Update (2024.26). This means that the Cybertruck has got 2024 Summer Update features with this update.
Last month, Elon Musk said that the Tesla Cybertruck owners will get the FSD v12.5 in August. But with the latest 2024.26.7 update, Tesla did not unlock Full Self-Driving Supervised for Cybertruck owners.
For Tesla vehicles other than the Cybertruck, the update version 2024.26.7 indicates FSD v12.3.6. However, Tesla just deployed features in this update but held the FSD feature because of technical hindrances in its implementation on the huge and boxy Cybertruck.
According to Tesla’s Director of Autopilot Software Ashok Elluswamy Cybertruck FSD is expected to be rolled out in September. “FSD for Cybertruck expected in Sep,” he stated in response to a question about the release of Cyebrtruck FSD on X (Twitter).
Elluswamy also gave the technical reason for the delay of the Cybertruck FSD in the same statement, he said:
Cybertruck will start with parking assistance features, given that it ain’t exactly the easiest vehicle to park. Initial release is slated for end of this week. FSD for Cybertruck expected in Sep.
Whenever Cybertruck gets FSD, it will start from a subversion point release of FSD v12.5. However, for now, Tesla Cybertruck owners have got the latest Summer Update.
According to the software tracking stats by TeslaFi.com, the Tesla software update 2024.26.7 is the most widely installed version on Tesla cars. Out of the total 20,046 data-contributing vehicles on the website, 9,352 (46.7%) of Tesla vehicles currently have this update.
Before the new 2024.26.7 Summer Update, Cybertrucks were on the 2024.20.200 update.
A Cybertruck Foundation Series owner shared the screenshot of the center touchscreen of the Tesla electric pickup truck which shows the software update v2024.26.7 installed on it. However, he reported that he didn’t get FSD Supervised with this version which is confirmed by Tesla.

September is about a week away but Tesla AI Head used the word “expected” which might mean further delays in Cybertruck getting FSD even after September. Stay tuned for the latest on this.
