Watch a Cybertruck smoke a Lamborghini in a street race

Tesla Cybertruck is not just a tough pickup truck with a bullet-proof body and ruggedness for off-roading adventures. Despite its large appearance, it can easily take on most sports cars when it comes to racing in a straight line.

Last week, a video of a Cybertruck racing a Lamborghini luxury sports car went viral. This short video was originally posted on YouTube but later caught the eyes of Tesla (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk who reposted it on X (Twitter). Combined, it has received around 150 million views as of this writing.

A Cybertruck which is most probably the top-end Cyberbeast variant — was waiting on a red light/crosswalk as a Lamborghini driver approached from behind and challenged the Cybrerbeast for a random street race.

The Cyberbeast driver accepted the challenge and what happened next will be remembered forever by the Lamborghini driver — because he lost. So much for the engine noise that’s lost in the ugly defeat by the silent Cyberbeast.

Top-of-the-line Tesla Cyberbeast Cybertruck costs $99,990 and a Lamborghini Aventador seen in this video can be anywhere from around $250K to $1M. So, multiple Cybertrucks can be bought in the price of a Lamborghini and yet it was defeated at the hands of a Cyberbeast.

Lamborghini Aventador’s 0-60 mph varies from 2.8s to 2.9s depending on the variant and optional upgrades. However, the Cyberbeast has a 0-60 mph acceleration of 2.6 seconds using the Beast Mode (launch control). Another cost-to-performance advantage over the Lambo.

The Lamborghini Aventador in this video was clearly ahead of the Cyberbease by around 2 feet at the start line. Still, it lost to the drag racing challenge. Perhaps, Lamborghini should be thinking about their next electric hypercar or at least on the lines of a Bugatti Tourbillon made by the CEO of an EV company Rimac.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk once again reminded us that a Cybertruck can beat a Porsche 911 in a drag racing battle while towing one. Tesla even demonstrated this last year at the delivery event.
