Tesla Model 3 & Model Y get a slight price increase, Model S Plaid+ a $10k bump

Tesla (TSLA) had dropped the price of the non-Performance variants of the Tesla Model Y and Model 3 back in February by $1,000 each. But the automaker has now taken half a step back and added $500 back to the price of Model 3 SR+ and Long Range variants.

Tesla has added back $1,000 to the price of the Model Y Long Range version.

But the major price increase has been seen in Tesla’s flagship sedan, the Model S Plaid+, the price of which has been increased by a whopping $10,000. Congrats to those who reserved the sub 2.0s electric car with 520+ miles of range at the previous price point.

New Prices

Following are the new prices of Model 3, Model Y, and Model S after the recent price hike:

  • Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus: $37,490
  • Tesla Model 3 Long Range AWD: $46,490
  • Tesla Model Y Long Range AWD: $49,990
  • Tesla Model S Plaid+: $149,990

This is the third price change that Tesla has made to its vehicle lineup this year, actually, 3rd in the last 4 weeks to be exact. Tesla is going through frequent price changes in the first quarter, the current price changes might be related to the balance sheet as the end-of-quarter push approaches.

The following chart shows the aggregate and individual price changes Tesla has implemented since January. Model 3 and Model Y Performance both got a $1k price increase since the start of this year, Model S and Model X had no overall change except for the Model S Plaid+ with the most recent $10k increase.
