The highly anticipated Tesla Model S Plaid delivery event happening at the Silicon Valley-based automaker’s Fremont car factory is happening on Thursday 10th June, and like the past major events, this one will also be streamed live on the internet.

Aside from the live-streaming of this event, Tesla has invited assorted employees, Tesla car owners, and social media influencers. Tesla is sending invites directly to inboxes of the ones invited.

The interestingly designed invite image shows a black Tesla Model S Plaid standing in front of a 3D lighting tunnel with chequered plaid pattern. “Only thing beyond Ludicrous is Plaid,” is printed on the promotional banner, a quote Elon Musk often uses to describe the new 0-60 mph in 1.99 seconds acceleration of the Plaid Model S.

Tesla Model S and Model X cars manufactured before Jan 2021 are equipped with the old Ludicrous Mode, the new design refresh S and X now have an even more advanced acceleration mode called Plaid Mode. Among the traditional ICE car enthusiasts, this is referred to as Launch Control.

Ludicrous Mode used to be a $20k upgrade on a Model S or Model X P100D in the past when finally Tesla decided to offer it free of cost for the Model S/X Performance owners with the launch of the Raven drivetrain and air suspension back in 2019.

This delivery event is important because there is a great chance that Tesla is going to give a live-streamed or recorded demonstration of the Plaid acceleration, which is 0-60 mph in 1.99 seconds. This is very important for Tesla to prove its claim and after discontinuing the Model S Plaid+ variant in favor of plain Plaid, it has become even more significant to showcase the new capability of the car.

Looks like Tesla has already prepared the track at the Fremont factory for the Plaid acceleration demo, we can see in the drone photo of the Fremont test track.

Once again, the delivery event will take place on June 10th, at 7 PM Pacific time. Stay tuned as we post the updates, follow us on:
