Cybertruck owners are finally happy that Tesla (TSLA) has released an autonomous feature to their electric pickup truck.
The tech automaker introduced the Vision Autopark feature for the Cybertruck earlier this month in over-the-air (OTA) update version 2024.32.5. However, due to unknown reasons, the rollout of the feature stayed limited to the early access group.
Tesla again sent out sub-versions of the update 2024.32.5.1 and 2024.32.5.2 which must have minor bug fixes. These updates also did not go wide release.
Tesla released another sub-version point release version 2024.32.5.3 which was first seen on Saturday (21st Sept). The rollout remained slow for this point release on the weekend.
Starting this week on Monday, Tesla sent a large wave of the Vision Autopark update version 2024.32.5.3 to its Cybertruck fleet. This new sub-version went wide release because the update has improvements and bug fixes that have improved the feature to a satisfactory level.
However, after sending out a big wave on Monday (see graph above), Tesla has once again slowed down the deployment of this update. The reason might be the small number of Cybertrucks compared to other Tesla vehicles that have been in production for years now.
Also, on Tesla software tracking platforms like TeslaFi.com, the number of registered Cybertrucks is significantly low compared to Tesla Model 3, Y, S, and X.
Tesla hasn’t published new release notes for the Cybertruck Vision Autopark in the new 2024.32.5.3 point release update. The release notes remain the same as they appeared in the original rollout of the feature.
@DirtyTesla from X (Twitter) took his Cybertruck to a parking lot to test the Vision Autopark function. Except for a small mistake, his Cybertruck parked itself pretty well despite its huge size. Tesla has most probably fixed this small confusion issue as @DirtyTesla was on a previous point release when he performed this test.
Cybertruck is still waiting to receive the Full Self-Driving (FSD) software update which was on Tesla’s FSD roadmap for September. However, we might see it just at the end of this month.
Let’s watch how the Cybertruck Vision Autopark feature works inside a busy parking lot.
