Tesla, Inc. (TSLA) has revealed what everyone has been eagerly waiting for since the end of the Christmas holidays — the Q4 2022 production and delivery numbers. These figures also give us an outlook on the overall deliveries in 2022 and how the automaker performed last year.

Tesla delivered 405,278 and produced 439,701 vehicles in Q4 2022. Another record quarter by the automaker despite the ongoing economic recession and Tesla’s share price drop.

Tesla also announced that the Q4 and Year 2022 financial update and earnings call will be held on Wednesday 25th January 2022 at 4:30 p.m. Central Time / 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time. The Q & A webcast will be streamed live online at https://ir.tesla.com.

In addition to a record quarter for vehicle deliveries and production, the year 2022 was also a record year for Tesla in this regard overall. Tesla delivered 1,313,851 cars in 2022 and produced 1,369,611.

Tesla got this output from its four car manufacturing facilities around the globe. Two in the United States (Fremont, California & Giga Texas). One factory is in China (Giga Shanghai) and one is in Germany (Giga Berlin).

In the fourth quarter, we produced over 439,000 vehicles and delivered over 405,000 vehicles. In 2022, vehicle deliveries grew 40% YoY to 1.31 million while production grew 47% YoY to 1.37 million.

We continued to transition towards a more even regional mix of vehicle builds which again led to a further increase in cars in transit at the end of the quarter.

Thank you to all of our customers, employees, suppliers, shareholders and supporters who helped us achieve a great 2022 in light of significant COVID and supply chain-related challenges throughout the year.

Tesla had set the target of delivering 1.5 million vehicles this year but the electric automaker fell a little short of this year’s guidance. Tesla also fell a little short of the 1 million vehicle delivery target in 2021 as well.

But the catch here is that Tesla (TSLA) still managed to achieve an average compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 62% in vehicle deliveries and a 64% CAGR for production since 2020.

However, some analysts and bear investors are still arguing that Tesla missed its target of delivering 1.5 million vehicles. With the troubles that this year has gone through and the pertaining supply chain issues affecting production and deliveries globally, this isn’t a big miss in my opinion.
