Camouflage-wrapped Tesla Cybertruck spotted in California sparks new rumors (pics, videos)

A new rumor mill has started since a Cybertruck prototype was spotted in California yesterday — wrapped in a military-style camouflage pattern. In the past, Elon Musk has referred to it as a ‘tank’ and talked about it being a lightweight armored vehicle.

Multiple Tesla enthusiasts saw the camouflage-wrapped Tesla Cybertruck yesterday and took pictures of it making appearances across California yesterday.

In a short video captured by a Tesla stan, the camo-wrapped Cybertruck was seen coming out of the drive-through of the In-N-Out Burger in Mountain View, California.

This spotting is especially interesting because of a wrapped Cybertruck prototype from the factory. Tesla’s futuristic electric pickup truck is not yet in production but the automaker here is leaving some indicators behind.

Cybertruck wrapped in military camo sparked rumors that Tesla is demonstrating the possibility of a factory-wrap option. The outer shell of the Tesla Cybertruck is made of 30X hardened stainless steel, so it’s better and cost-effective to wrap it than paint it.

Showing off a military-themed Cybertruck camouflage, Tesla reminds us of what Elon Musk once said during a Jay Leno’s Garage episode, “We want to be leaders in Apocalypse technology”.

Keeping Musk’s statement in mind, even computer graphics artists have been displaying their wild imaginations of what an apocalypse-era Cybertruck would look like.

A Cybertruck prototype roaming in an interesting camo wrap has started a new rumor mill. A chunk of the Tesla Community thinks that the automaker will offer different wrap options in colors and patterns out of the box.

Elon Musk has said in the past that wrapping a stainless steel Cybertruck is better than applying new paint to it. So, the automaker might want to seize the opportunity and offer pre-wrapped Cybertrucks out of the box.

There is apparently a large number of Cybertruck reservation holders on social media who want their unorthodox electric pickup truck to be custom-wrapped.

In the past, some rumors have proved to be right but some have been wrong. Just recently, a rumor mill about Elon Musk unveiling Project Highland Model 3 on his visit to China didn’t establish as true.

Offering company-wrapped vehicles is not entirely new to Tesla. In 2020, Tesla began offering its vehicles in official wraps in China. But this idea hasn’t been tested in North America or Europe. However, wrapping Cybertruck can become a significant revenue stream for the automaker as more than 1 million pre-orders are on the back-burner already.
