Tesla’s latest over-the-air (OTA) software update version 2023.32.4 has brought subtle but marginal improvements.

Although the release notes for this update say that this is a minor bug fixes and improvements update, but Tesla owners have reported significant enhancement to the clarity of the camera video.

Tesla owners with the legacy Hardware 3 (HW3) cameras in their cars get better Autopilot camera results after installing the software update version 2023.32.4.

Additionally, Tesla has updated the Service Mode for Model X vehicles in the 2023.32.4 update. Tesla Service Mode for Model X now includes more information about the luxury SUV’s unique rear Falcon Wing doors.

According to Tesla software update tracking websites TeslaScope.com and TeslaFi.com, the Tesla software update v2023.32.4 is rolling out fast. It is the most widely installed OTA update now, as Tesla is quickly transitioning cars with older software versions to the new v2023.32.4 update.

Service Mode: Model X Falcon Wing Doors

Tesla Service Mode is actually intended for service and maintenance staff to detect and fix issues with the vehicle. The additional internal information added in the 2023.32.4 update by Tesla is for service personnel to work on the Model X Falcon Wing doors.

The information in the 2023.32.4 update gives us some insight into how the Tesla Model X Falcon Wing doors detect objects and react accordingly, the screen reads:

Roof Ultrasonic Sensor
Indoor mode active

Door opening height restricted by roof obstacle detected below 100cm in the past 8 meters of the vehicle travel.

Indoor mode will be disabled if vehicle speed goes above 10 kph, or if no obstacle below 100cm are detected for 8 meters of vehicle travel.

Autopilot Camera Improvements in Tesla v2023.32.4 Update

Several Tesla owners have reported on social media that after installing the new OTA software update version 2023.32.4, they have observed much better results from Autopilot cameras on their cars.

Tesla owners can watch the video feed from their vehicles’ Autopilot cameras installed on the front, sides, and rear of the vehicles. Tesla introduced the Camera Preview feature in the software update version 2023.20.1 earlier this year.

Camera previews before installing the 2023.32.4 update were darker and duller compared to the video feed after the installation of this new version. Tesla has made color corrections and set the brightness levels to achieve the best clarity with the same old cameras installed on HW3 cars.

Reportedly, cars with the new Hardware 4 (HW4) cameras have also started receiving the 2023.32.4 update, and camera results are even better on these vehicles. Tesla owner Brandon compared both hardware version camera preview results in the following tweet:

Rain Sensor Issues and Other Bugs

Tesla owners are reporting some bugs and issues with the 2023.32.4 software update. For some owners, the rain sensors are acting weirdly after installing this update in the day and during nighttime driving as well. The windshield wipers seem to be activated randomly when there is apparently no rain.

The home charging timer also seems to be not showing the correct information. However, these bugs and issues have been reported by a Tesla owner from Denmark, so, these issues might be country-specific.

Like always, Tesla is hopefully going to fix these bugs and problems in a new OTA update soon.
