Tesla (TSLA) has finally opened the non-Foundation Cybertruck order page (online configurator) for existing reservation holders.

Many Cybertruck reservation holders have reported across social media and discussion forums that they received an invitation email from Tesla to order their EV pickup truck.

At the company’s Annual Shareholder Meeting, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced that the cheaper non-Foundation Cybertruck will be available in Q3 2024. The automaker missed the deadline by a few days.

The non-Foundation Dual-Motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD) Cyebrtruck starts at $79,990. Until the Single Motor variant comes out, this is the most affordable Cybertruck variant available.

A large spectrum of Tesla Cybertruck reservation holders were waiting as they were not willing to spend additional $20K for the Foundation Series Cybertruck.

Tesla sent out invitation emails to configure non-Foundation Cybertrucks yesterday — after the automaker announced its Q3 2024 vehicle delivery numbers on Wednesday. The email content states:

Starting at $79,990. Cybertruck allows you to travel the distance, power your life, and is rugged enough to go anywhere.

With up to 325 miles of range on a single charge, a durable stainless-steel exoskeleton and integrated bed and cabin outlets to power your tools or home* — Cybertruck can handle any adventure.

*Home Powershare feature is pending a software update.

Some users shared screenshots of their Cybertruck order invitation email (above) and the non-Foundation Series Cybertruck online configurator (below).

The publicly-available Tesla Cybertruck online vehicle configurator in the US and Canada is still taking Foundation Series orders. The non-Foundation configurator is only available to reservation holders who have been waiting to place their orders for years.

Before Tesla started delivering Cybertrucks last year, reportedly, the automaker had a backlog of around 2 million pre-orders (reservations) for the truck that piled up over the years after its initial unveiling in 2019.

Aerial pictures of Giga Texas from the first week of September show a large number of Tesla Cybertruck units parked at the factory’s parking lot.

Tesla is giving an estimated delivery date of October to Novemeber for both non-Foundation and Foundation Series Cybertruck orders. The automaker seems to have ramped-up Cybertruck production at Giga Texas enough to accommodate the potential rush of orders.

Although the non-Foundation Tesla Cybertruck starts at $79,990 — there are destination and order processing fees that make it a bit more expensive than the base price.

For example, in the following Cybertruck order configurator screenshot, we can see that Tesla is charging a $1,995 destination fee and a $250 order fee. Tesla deducts the initial reservation deposit of $100 from the final price of the Cybertruck. These additional fees hike the final price of the non-Foundation Cybertruck AWD variant to $82,135.

The destination fee may vary depending on location. For Texas it would be less as the factory is located in Austin but states like California and New York that are far away would increase the delivery charges.

Interestingly, Tesla has included a 30-Day Full Self-Driving (FSD) trial with the non-Foundatin Cybertruck order. It also comes with a free 1 year of Premium Connectivity trial as well.
