Tesla (TSLA) began the rollout of another FSD 12.5 point release update yesterday.

The newest installment of the Full Self-Driving software update v12.5.6 (2024.32.30) brings “End-to-End on Highway” to the entire vehicle lineup.

The official release notes of the FSD v12.5.6 OTA software update also list some other new features and improvements as well (read below).

The most interesting part in this update is the expansion of End-to-End on Highway to the entire Tesla lineup. Last week, Tesla rolled out the FSD v12.5.5 update for the Cybertruck which introduced End-to-End on Highway for the automaker’s pickup truck only.

Tesla usually rolls out the newest FSD updates to the original group external beta testers first. Most of these Tesla owners and testers belong to either social media influencers, YouTubers, or retail investors.

The FSD v12.5.6 (2024.32.30) update is no different. Tesla has began the rollout with a very limited release in the first step. This provides the automaker with a solid testing and feedback ground before making the OTA update a wide release.

Looking at Tesla software tracking data on TeslaFi.com and TeslaScope.com, only 3 cars have received the FSD (Supervised) v12.5.6 Autopilot update. Interestingly, all the vehicles reported getting this update are Tesla Model Y SUVs.

Tesla YouTuber and FSD (Supervised) tester Chuck Cook also received the FSD 12.5.6 software on his HW4/AI4 Model Y. Unfortunately he is headed to Los Angeles for the We, Robot Tesla Robotaxi event scheduled for tomorrow. So, we will be able to witness his testing after the event.

Chuck however shared the screenshot of FSD v12.5.6 release notes on his X (Twitter) profile. Besides the End-to-End on Highway, Tesla made other improvements in this update as well.

Some of the features that were listed under the “Upcoming Improvements” section in the previous FSD v12.5.5 update are now put under “Includes” section of the v12.5.6 release notes.

One such feature is the “Earlier and more natural lane change decisions”. Since the update is very new and limited to a few users as of now, we will have to wait for substantial testing feedback to measure this improvement.

Another change that Chuck Cook pointed out in his X post is the “Auto Set Speed has been updated to Max Speed”. Chuck wrote about this change as follows:

The biggest change I am interested in understanding is the abandonment of Auto Set speed for the older Max Speed logic. This should make many people happy. Speed control has been one of the biggest issues with these latest versions on v12.5.x.

Official Tesla Release Notes: FSD v12.5.6 (2024.32.30)
