Tesla has introduced a totally new software version branch for its global fleet of vehicles — the Tesla OTA update version 2025.38.
The tech & AI-based automaker has introduced a couple of new features in this pre-Holiday Season update (see official release notes below).
Tesla has added new functions for the left scroll wheel and improved the Dashcam Viewer feature on the Tesla mobile app. Apple Music experience and Driver Profile security options are also enhanced as minor updates in the 2025.38 and subsequent point release updates.

Tesla Update 2025.38 Rollout Status and FSD Compatibility
Tesla update 2025.38 and its fast-rolling subversions 2025.38.3.1, 2025.38.3.2, and 2025.38.3.3 are going wide release.
According to the Tesla firmware tracking website TeslaFi.com, these four different versions of the 2025.38 update are currently installed on ~40% of Tesla electric vehicles globally.
Older Model 3, Model S, and Model X cars are also getting the new 2025.38 and its point release updates. Some users are being directly upgraded to the latest available version, i.e., 2025.38.3.2 and 2025.38.3.3.
Most of the older Tesla vehicle owners reporting the availability of this new update belong to Europe.
The 2025.38 and its subversions are compatible with the legacy Full Self-Driving (FSD) versions v13.2.9 (HW4/AI cars) and v12.6.4 (HW3 cars). This update and its features are not currently available for cars using the latest FSD v14 (2025.32.8.5) update or its subversions.
